Being a child at Disneyland and the ultimate tourist in Paris!

My Paris and Disneyland trip was squished into an impossible 2 DAYS!! So of course I will be heading back as soon as possible to actually eat food instead of being a seriously dedicated tourist and refusing to stop and eat until all sightseeing is done... many apologies and thank you's to my good friend Tamara who suffered with me!

Disneyland was purely fabulous, doing a uni course in a college means we get access to all the trips. PERKS!! 14 hours on a coach with 40 other students was a task and a half, however more perks of being university students among college students... managed to grab ourselves a room each, and of course we made the best use of this set up - One was used for sleeping and the other was used for our clothes, walk in wardroom!!

I think about 95% of the rides at Disneyland are for kids aged 8 and under, however this just made it totally acceptable to act like a 5 year old all day and queue for 2 hours to meet Minnie Mouse, only in Disneyland. The Pirates of the Caribbean  and the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast ride were my personal favourites.

2nd day was PARIS! It was only the middle of March and the Eiffel Tower was first... 3 hours later and feeling like a human ice pop we made it to the top. Totally worth it though to get those amazing views of such a beautiful city! A much needed recovery session on the boat cruise was needed after that, definitely recommended to get a good look at at the beautiful buildings in Paris.

The Louvre was super impressive, especially when we realised we got free admission because we were under 25. Woop! As we were on a one day tourist mission we made our way straight to the Mona Lisa, well at least we tried. Any of you who have been to see it you will know the long corridor it is situated on before you turn half way down into the room to see it. Well we completely missed this turning and continued to walk back and forth like total idiots up that long corridor, after we finally asked for help and it was confirmed we were idiots as we had actually been in the same room as the Mona Lisa and been completely distracted by the huge picture in the same room. So yes don't make that mistake haha! Definitely worth going to go get a selfie with Mona, and also to complete your tourist pictures by holding the top of the Louvre.

Next we went to see the Love Lock Bridge, locking our lock to the bridge and throwing the key into the water making ourselves part of Paris! Until they take the all the locks off the bridge of course. If you do this, I wouldn't stress about getting a lock before you go to Paris like I did. There are loads of stalls next to the bridge selling them for reasonable prices, all funky colours as well!

That was our final step of the day until me and Tamara turned into cannibals. We had a lovely meal in a small little restaurant in the city center, unfortunately I can't remember the name. After a few glasses of wine we made our way back on the train trying to guess how each stop is pronounced before the it was said... the little things that were highly entertaining.

Paris I hope to see you soon and have some more fabulous food!

Thank you for reading!

Skydiving Airkix

So for my 21st birthday present instead of getting me jewellery or shoes or any other item, my friends got me an indoor skydiving experience at Airkix Manchester. Not only did I have a huge fan blowing my cheeks all over the place, they also made me dress up as super woman... Can't thank them enough for knowing me so well!

It was a lot harder than I thought getting your body in the right position to prevent flying into a wall, but once you get the hang of it it feels so good! As you only fly for about 2 minutes, I would also highly recommend the high fly experience, it made the whole thing for me It costs £5 but you wouldn't want to miss out on it, trust me!

It was an absolutely fabulous experience and I would recommend it to anyone! Or if  you have a friend who isn't very materialistic and prefers an unforgettable experience, definitely an idea to look into! It can be quite pricey, but if you all chip in £10 it isn't so bad :)

Travelling to Brussels

Decided to do another travel post....

Maison Dandoy

Manneken Pis (Dressed as a Leprechaun)

BRUSSELS!

I went to Brussels in July for just a couple of days with three fabulous sisters and I can say if you love chocolate, waffles and beer... go to Brussels!

Full of amazing street art on every wall you pass, hundreds of choices of beer (strawberry beer is a personal favourite), and chocolate and waffles with every topping on every corner. What is there not to love? It was like a dessert dream.

This was going to be my first holiday staying in a hostel, with mixed views on hostels I didn't no what to expect... Then we found our 'hostel' and it was fabulous! We stayed at the Meininger Hotel a huge building,  right by the canal, great colourful rooms, deck chairs outside and an with a amazing bar that let us finish off ta bottle of wine just because it was  near the end. Thank you very much!

Our visit to the chocolate museum The Museum of Cocoa and Chocolate (Musee du Cacao et du Chocolat) was short but sweet. A chocolate demonstration is shown at the start which is just dreamy, with chocolate samples surrounding you. After that it's a rather narrow building filled with statues, clothes and buildings made of chocolate, including the famous Manneken Pis.

We made a waffle dinner date during our trip to Brussels, researching the best place to serve us the perfect waffle. Well we did our research well Maison Dandoy - Tea Room, a bit pricier than the street corner waffles, but every square was definitely worth every penny!

Brussels will be seeing me again one day, when I fancy a relaxed weekend away stuffing my face with carbs and sugar!

21 Things I Have Learnt Since Turning 21

1. First, it's official I need to get my life together!

2. It's my last year of beings a student, it's officially hit me! No more student loans, how am I going to afford my city breaks and new clothes?!

3. I've reached an age where every family member or family friend above the age of 35 asks me why I don't have a boyfriend... What do they expect when all I am getting is chat up lines about camels on tinder due to this picture...
4. A hangover now feels like it lasts a lifetime.

5. Every ambition I have, now is the time to start working towards them. I'm not getting any younger, next stop is 30!

6. It is still completely acceptable to sit and watch Disney films all day, without a care in the world. Only for one day though, I actually have to work these days.

7. I am asking for presents such as socks, electric toothbrushes and 'bath stuff'... I miss circling the Argos catalogue.

8. The next big birthday is 30 which is scarily only 9 years away. Thirty Years Old! Yes, I mentioned this earlier, but how can I not, I am half way to 42! so yes in case you didn't realise i'm absolutely crapping it!

9. I am falling behind with technology, the two kids I babysit for have better phones than me and are showing me how to use apps.

10. I have spent 16 years of my life in education. Which is a bit sickening now I write it down. It's time to start living my life and having at least one year without writing an assignment!

11. I need to learn how to cook, like actually cook, not just pasta and chicken... cooking lessons for my 22nd birthday?

12. North West is only 2 years old and one of her outfits cost more money than I will probably ever own!

13. Family members are now apologising for the apology they just gave when they swore in front of me...  no I don't want to grow up!

14. Deciding to stay at home whilst at university was such a good idea in terms of having all the extra  money and seeing my family so often. However, after 21 years, I need to break free!

15. I'm not getting ID'd anymore in some places. Have I aged that much?!

16. I have out grown student nights. Which feels sad until I go back to one and realise every reason why I now avoid them. Sorry bank account you will have to suffer from now on.

17. I have started to complain about all those high school kids running around screaming, I have even persuaded myself that I was never like that... I won't accept it!

18. I am actually putting money aside for savings, preparing for my lack of student loan when it comes to September.

19. Since turning 21 I have had a day of knitting lessons with one of my few 21 year old friends, never thought that was part of turning 21?

20. I realised that dream I had when I was 10 years old of driving around in my convertible, living happily married in my four bedroom house, whilst also travelling the world and earning millions at my fabulous job that I loved... Well I have hit reality and I haven't even passed my driving test yet! I will keep dreaming.

21. Wine is becoming my savior.

As much as I don't want to get any older, I can't deny I have enjoyed my 21 years so far!

Thank you for reading once again!

Happy New Year!

Hope you all had the most fantabulous time, and ate your weight in chocolate... shouldn't be spent any other way!

My Christmas and New Year celebrations have all been about family and friends this year. The last two years I have spent New Years Eve away from home, in Spain and the Hogmanay in Edinburgh (it was amazing, I will post photos below). This year was spent at home with my family and friends, playing homemade beer pong and eating lots of party food!

Now it is new year, and there's always the annual question 'what's your new years resolution?'... In my 21 years I have never had one. However this year I have actually got one!

Sorting out my Priorities

First of all, i'm throwing it straight out there... I am an absolute series addict! It all started with Netflix, and Breaking bad, I have since completed 10 more series, all in the space of a year. Haha, I know that's bad, it needs to stop! Is there a Series Addict Anonymous out there? I think I need to go! It's going to be particularly hard with Pretty Little Liars and Suits starting again this Month...
But Emma you will do this! It's my last year of University, only 6 months to go, woo! I just need to stick it out for that time, have more dedication to my blog and start the process of working out my career and how I am going to get there! Way too much brain work for a 21 year old if you ask me!

Anyway I will be back, hopefully sooner than last time! Feel free other series addicts or ex series addicts, tell me how you did it! All have a fabulous new year and stick out your resolutions, wishing you all luck!
